With two events remaining on the 2019 World Surf League Championship Tour, a host of surfers have already mathematically earned provisional qualification for Surfing’s debut in the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.
This includes Japan’s Kanoa Igarashi, who has been confidently represetning Sharpeye Surfboards this season and has even released his very own surfboard model, named “Storms”.
Kanoa Igarashi is one of the first of 20 to have a slot at next year’s Olympic Games. Furthermore, he is the first Japanese surfer in history to secure a spot to compete.
This is not the first time Kanoa Igarashi has made history. Earlier this year he took the first WSL Championship Tour win for Japan at the Corona Bali Protected at Keramas.
