One of our favourite groms, Dane Henry, has taken out a powerful win in the 14s division of the Bede Durbidges Grom Comp at North Stradbroke Island. The waves were pumping and provided a great canvas for Dane to rip on his Holy Toledo. His speed and power was hard to beat, earning him 1st place.
Dane also snapped up a 2nd place in the Surfing NSW Far North Coast Regional Titles at Lennox last weekend, following a couple of days of solid surfing and big scores. Next, he’s off to Maroubra NSW State Titles in July to defend his State Title. Excellent work Dane and we are stoked about your latest wins!
Sharpeye teamrider Billy Stairmand has continued his climb up the qualifying rankings after another solid result, this time in Chile. Stairmand made the quarterfinals at the contest in La Punta, earning 1260 points and lifting 15 places to No 32 on the rankings.
The top 10 surfers at the end of the year are promoted to the full world tour.
Stairmand, who earlier claimed a quarter-final win in Krui, Indonesia and a win on the Gold Coast in Australia, is flying high in the World Surf League’s secondary tour and is ready to take on the next challenge. Good luck from the Sharpeye Team!
