Filipe Toledo's Round 3 loss yesterday has put the 2018 WSL Title Race in play for the business end in Portugal with frontrunner Gabriel Medina able to clinch with a victory and Australian challenger Julian Wilson able to halt with a Semifinals berth. This is an unfortunate result for Filipe and the Sharpeye crew but regardless we are beyond proud of young Toledo's 2018 campaign and are gearing up to finish the year strong with a fresh perspective and a stronger plan of attack for 2019.
As for the remaining SE team, Ian Gouveia bowed out in his round 3 match up to an inform Julian Wilson. Kanoa Igarashi still flying the SE flag, has been the silent assassin through out the event and has continued to push through into the Quarter finals with an opponent TBD tonight. Kanoa's board of choice through out the Event has been a round tail OK model ( https://www.sharpeyesurfboards.com.au/ok ) which has looked deadly all event.
